It tried to prove, again and again, that its embraces are gentle, tender, never bone-crushing. During those lonely years, the wounded bear would weep quietly in hidden corners. Fortunately, now everyone knows Hugglebeary's arms are gentle indeed... even if they leave you a little short of breath.
